Hot Tub & Spa Installation | Edmonton, Sherwood Park and Fort Saskatchewan
Hot Tub & Spa Installation for private use is pretty simple to set up. You need to make sure that you have access to the backyard; a solid, level place to set the hot tub or spa; electricity and a garden hose in close proximity to fill it up when installation is completed.
In most cases, a building permit is required for a hot tub & spa's with depths greater than 600 mm. Your city may require a site plan that shows the proposed location along with information such as fencing and/or lockable covers. Fencing is not always required when the hot tub has a lockable cover that can support the weight of an adult.
An electrical permit is required for any wiring associated with the hot tub & spa installation. Hot tubs either require 110V or 220V of electricity. If you have a 110V model then you may be able to simply plug the spa into an electrical outlet in the backyard. However, if you have a 220V model, then you will need to work with a certified electrician. Your electrician will need to ensure there is enough electricity to power the spa and run the appropriate wires from your electrical panel to the hot tub.
